Our next publication…

We are very pleased to share the news that our systematic review protocol has been published. Find it here (<–click me).

Think of a protocol a bit like a recipe. It contains a list of instructions that shows how we are going to do the review. The idea being that if somebody else wanted to repeat what we have done they could do it following these instructions. And hopefully, they would find the same things that we did.

Reviews like the one that we are doing are fairly new and unusual. In the past, reviews usually involve numbers, and be looking for whether something like a medicine was effective or not. Our type of review is looking for experiences instead, and trying to make sense of it all! We don’t think anyone’s experience is more important or worth more, it’s all part of the same problem,

Therefore, we hope that other people will look at what we’ve done and use it to plan their own work. For example, if somebody wanted to see how older people use medicines at home then they could take our instructions and change it slightly to suit their own project.

We are making a great deal of progress with the review, and look forward to sharing the results in the next few months, stay tuned!

Very pleased to say that our systematic review protocol is published. It’s been a challenge to summarise what we already know about giving medicines to children at home, but the design of this review is doing a great job so far, and we’re excited to share the results soon!doi.org/10.1186/s136…
