DEEP END Leeds Meeting – January 2025

Last Monday, we had the pleasure of going to an event run by a project called DEEP END Leeds.

DEEP END Leeds is an initiative run by the university and local GP practices in underserved communities around Leeds.

MINIMEDs was invited to the meeting along with other junior researchers. At the meeting there were many local groups from Leeds, representing many different parts of our communities. It was amazing to meet so many different people and be together in a room that was so inclusive and collaborative.

It was inspiring to listen to so many people and how they have faced adversity and overcome challenges in their daily lives. We enjoyed being able to talk to them about our research project and how they can help improve what we are doing, for the benefit of everyone.

We left the meeting with many new acquaintances, and our pledges (see below) to carry on with this important community engagement work. We have already been invited to Sheffield to meet with a parent group based there at the end of the month. We will be sure to share our experience of that meeting too.

The next big thing for our project is the next parent/public advisory group on the 25th of January. There is still spaces available available if you would like to come.
